Storytelling
Background
Loren began his
storytelling career in the early 1990’s when he started telling
children’s stories during morning worship services at his home church.
That was the extent
of his storytelling career until 2002 when he attended an all day Bible
storytelling workshop. Besides learning valuable storytelling
skills at the workshop, Loren discovered his love for storytelling and
that there were other people who shared that love of storytelling.
In 2003, Loren became
an apprentice member of the local storytelling guild, the Twin City
Tale Spinners. The guild provided mentoring and coaching that
helped improve his storytelling skills. In 2004, the guild
recognized Loren as a professional storyteller.
In the fall of 2003,
Loren performed his first storytelling concert at his home church. And
in 2004, he received training to lead what is now the Bible Stories
Aliive! workshop.
Today, Loren shares
the great stories of the Bible and his love for storytelling through
speaking engagements and by taking the Bible Stories Alive! workshop to
churches.
